Supplies to bring:
6' long 1x12" board (cut into three pieces: 2x 16" long and 1x 36" long
with small rest to spare)
6' long 1x4" board (cut into two pieces: 2x 35" long with small rest to spare)
4 1/4" diameter dowels
sandpaper
- Costs for the materials depend on the kind of wood you choose but for pine usually do
not exceed $15 total. If you buy pine make sure you pick a healthy board with no cracks.
If you have a jigsaw please bring it. You are also welcome to just sit in and to listen to
the lecture part and watch the making of the bench without making your own. |
Class: "Lampworking 101" by Mistress Maeva Eiriksdottir
1pm-1:30pm (+ individual workshops from 1:30-5:00pm)
*A class introducing you to the world of Norse glass beads starting with a 30 minute
lecture including basic safety instructions for working with glass and followed by
individual sessions of hands-on lampworking. Lecture and hand-out are free of charge.
* You will need to sign up for your time slot of 1-on-1 lesson with me. Each slot will be
30 minutes long. I will provide glass, gas and other equipment for a nominal charge of
$4/person. |
Class: "Wood Carving" by HL Ennae Catha an Duna
1:30pm - 2:30pm
We will be learning basic steps in carving.
Supplies to bring:
1 sharp knife,
a 1'x1' plank of any wood type you want
one wood carving chisel. |

Banner yet, you can paint your arms on a blank shield during the day. |
Notes: Bring a chair.
A cold pasta & fruit lunch will be provided. Water and tea will be available all day
Bring a dish for the potluck dinner that will began after the classes are over.
Bring your bathing suits and towels and be prepared to get wet in the pool.
You can bring whatever you care to drink for the potluck.
There is a park across the street with a children's playground and water play fountain; an
adult should be at the park with the children the whole time. |
